LONG WEEKEND IN HAWAII – HONOLULU

Recently, I travelled to Honolulu for a long weekend from Vancouver. When I visited in mid October, there was light drizzle of rain on and off throughout each day, but when the sun is out it’s nice and warm. Here are the places I was able to check off my list:

1. WESTIN MOANA SURFRIDER

This was the hotel I stayed at located on Waikiki beach. Although it was quite packed with people during the day, the beach was incredibly beautiful with white sand and clear water. Even if you’re not planning to stay at here, be sure to drop by for their famous buffet breakfast with a stunning view!

2. HANAUMA BAY

Formed from a volcanic cone, this is a popular tourist attraction located in a natural preserve park. It is a must-go if you enjoy snorkelling or simply a nice beach. When I visited the water was somewhat murky because of the rainy and windy weather , but I was still able to see the a diverse groups of corals and marine life.

3. Ono Seafood

What’s a trip to Hawaii without some fresh poke, am I right? Authentic Ahi Tuna + Tako poke is the perfect lunch option to indulge while sitting at the beach. The brown rice and rich marinated seafood complimented very well with each other, although it was slightly spicier than expected. Nonetheless, definitely worth the trip!

4. EGGS N’ THINGS

I first tried this famous brunch place in Tokyo, but I had to give it a try here since it first opened in Honolulu. The place is always bustling with a line, so try to get there early to avoid a long wait! When you’re here, don’t miss out the buttermilk pancakes with whip cream and additional toppings. The smoothies and acai bowls was also tempting, but I was too full to give them a try!

Let me know your experiences & what I missed out!

xoxo
